Infuriating Honesty

The last two days I have walked into the bathroom and into a large puddle of water. Roman has been spilling water into the small gap between the tub and the back wall which then flows around the tub and onto the floor. Today I splashed through the puddle and calmly explained to Roman for a 27th time why water on the floor could leak into the kitchen below and eventually cause structural damage to our rented home.

I lie.

I snapped. I yelled. I tried laying on the guilt.

Roman calmly stared up at me with his big eyes. When I finished, he looked up at me and calmly said, "Could you please go downstairs?"
"Why," I yelled, "so you can disobey, and throw more water on wall?"
"Yes," he calmly replied.
