Sitting Up.

Selah has really struggled with the idea that she should have to work hard at anything. She really pushes back when it is suggested that she put in the work to sit up or pull up into a standing position. After a lot of thought, and maybe not a lot of prayer, we made the decision to follow up with a physical therapist.

Last week the city of Alexandria sent a lovely PT to our home for an hour with Selah and Mama. Miss Sue is lovely. Very calm, with just the right amount of encouragement for both of us. She pushed Selah to work hard and use her arms and core muscles. She pushed me to let Selah struggle through some tough moments with tears and hard work. She showed me how to slowly lead Selah through the motions and let her take on as much of her own body weight as she could.

Less then a week later, Selah sat up. It is still really hard work, but with a little encouragement, Selah can sit up on her own! She always follows this miraculous feat with a self-congratulatory round of applause!
